The Lake County Committee of the Whole reviewed the public safety aspects of the county's strategic plan at its Feb. 5 meeting.
Executive Justice Council Member Donna Jo Maki discussed the county sheriff's efforts on gang task forces in the county. She also discussed coordinated services for those in jail or prison, substance abuse and alternatives to incarceration.
Trauma informed care training, text a tip and other community outreach services were also a part of the discussed plan. Maki gave an update on the K-9 units for the sheriff and the comfort dogs used by the state's attorney.
Nardos Barbeque's liquor license was revoked after the business was found guilty of six violations of the Lake County Liquor ordinance, including the allowance of battery and the discharge of a firearm on its property.
Multiple items on the consent agenda were also approved by the committee.
