The Barrington Special Olympics basketball team recently competed in the Illinois state tournament.
The team played against Hersey at Hersey High School and were made up of athletes in junior high and high school, from grades 4 to 12. Fans and school cheerleaders were on hand to support the team, which was coached by student-peers.
Student volunteers at the game included David Schwager, Gia Schwager, Sarah Ghaussy, Isaac Cheek, George Baldassano, Hannah Czernecki and Lindsay Olesen.
