To approve ordinances, agreements and amendments, the Gurnee village board met at 7 p.m. Monday at Village Hall.
The first portion of the meeting was structured to pass seven different items in one action under a consent agenda and omnibus vote system. The items included minutes from two March 7 meetings, approval of two ordinances pertaining to a zoning map and a plat for the area called "Speedway Grand and Dilleys Subdivision."
Authorization for a sanitary sewer service contract was awarded to Hoerr Construction Inc. at a maximum cost of $100,000, and the board signed off on two payroll-related sanctions and approved bills payable for the period ending Monday in the amount of $931,493.21.
The meeting’s petitions and communications segment allowed an opportunity for two proclamations denoting April both as “Fair Housing Month” and “Alcohol Awareness Month” for the village of Gurnee. Additionally, the board heard confirmation for the scheduled FY 2016-2017 budget hearing meeting planned for 6:30 p.m. April 4. In reports, Finance Director Brian Gosnell discussed FY 2015-2016 third quarter financial performance.
New business concerned additional ordinances, ranging from a liquor license and LED light fixtures to updated standards for massage practitioners, firearms stores and shooting ranges. Campaign and other types of signs also came up under the umbrella of residential signage.
Gurnee Village Hall is located at 325 North O’Plaine Road.
