Grayslake Village Board considers request to allow solar panels on schools

At a recent meeting, the Grayslake Village Board considered Grayslake Community High School District 127's special-use permit request to allow the installation of solar panels on schools.

Public Comment – Agenda Items: The Board will accept public comment on items included onthe meeting agenda

1. Approval: Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 21, 2016

The Board will consider approval of minutes for the June 21, 2016 regular Board

meeting.

2. Approval: Treasurer’s Report / Payment of Bills: July 5, 2016

The Board will consider approval of the regular treasurer’s report detailing revenues

and expenses for the reporting period ending on July 5, 2016.

3. Ordinance 2016-0-11: 2016/2017 Appropriation Ordinance

The Board will consider approval of Ordinance No. 2016-0-11. This ordinance is a

routine statutory requirement. The Village utilizes its annual fiscal year budget, rather

than the appropriation ordinance, to manage its finances.

4. Ordinance 2016-0-12: Zoning Ordinance Amendment

On the recommendation of the Committee of the Whole, the Board will consider approval

of Ordinance No. 2016-0-12 which amends the Village’s Zoning Ordinance to allow bus

terminal facilities in the Limited Industry (LI) zoning classification by special use permit

under limited circumstances.

5. Ordinance 2016-0-13: Special Use Permit – Grayslake Central High School

On the recommendation of the Committee of the Whole, the Board will consider approval

of Ordinance No. 2016-0-13, granting a special use permit to Grayslake High School

District 127 to allow roof mounted solar panels. The special use permit includes

screening and other requirements for these installations.

6. Ordinance 2016-0-14: Special Use Permit – Grayslake North High School

On the recommendation of the Committee of the Whole, the Board will consider approval

of ordinance No. 2016-0-14, granting a special use permit to Grayslake High School

District 127 to all roof mounted and ground based solar panels. The special use permit

includes screening and other requirements for these installations.

7. Ordinance 2016-0-15: Special Use Permit – 211 South Route 83 (Durham School

Services L.P.)

On the recommendation of the Committee of the Whole, the Board will consider approval

of Ordinance No. 2016-0-15, granting a special use permit to Durham School Services

L.P. to allow a school bus terminal at this location. The special use permit includes

various development and operating requirements for this operation. Durham School

Services L.P. will relocate its Grayslake facility from further south on Route 83 to this

location.

8. Resolution 863: Greenest Region Compact 2

The Board will consider approval of Resolution 867 endorsing the Metropolitan Mayors

Caucus’ Greenest Region Compact 2: The compact contains various consensus goals to

guide coordinated efforts toward stewardship of the environment & sustainable economic

vitality.

Public Comment: The Board will accept public comment on items of general interest.
