Conference shines light on CLC bright spot Sage

The College of Lake County basketball season was forgettable, but Ethan Sage wasn't. The sophomore forward from Lindenhurst has been named to the All-Skyway Conference second team, according to the school's athletics website.

Sage averaged 20.7 points per game, ranking him 23rd in Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as of March 1. He also made 212 field goals, which ranked 12th in the NJCAA.

During the season, Sage scored 20 points or more 14 times, including a 30-point effort against Moraine Valley. He also led the Lancers in rebounding, with 8.8 per game, and was among the team's top three in average assists and steals going into the Region IV Tournament.

Sage also did all he could in the team's season-ending loss to Triton in the tournament, leading the Lancers with 27 points, seven rebounds and four assists, according to the game report on njcaa.org

The Lancers ended the season with a 3-27 record.
