Hawthorn Woods has posted its 2018 proposed village budget for review by interested residents in advance of a public hearing on the budget on Dec. 13 at Village Hall.
The budget and a guide to priority-based budgeting are available online and for download on the village's website; hard copies can be viewed at Village Hall, the village said in a release.
According to Village Chief Operating Officer Pamela Newton and Chief Financial Officer Kristin Kazenas, the proposed budget is balanced and was designed to continue the village’s progress to financial stability, the release said. Newton and Kazenas noted that the budget is fiscally conservative as the village waits to see if new revenue opportunities come through.
The public hearing Dec. 13 will allow area residents to register their support or opposition to the budget ahead of a vote to approve and adopt it. Those wishing to submit comments on the budget can do in writing, at the meeting or both.
The public hearing will at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Village Hall, 2 Lagoon Drive.
