Lake County residents who work with adolescents are invited to attend Youth Mental Health First Aid training sessions provided by the Lake County Health Department from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 9 and 23.
According to a Lake County release, the Health Department’s training sessions will help adults who work with young people better recognize and respond to mental health problems. The training session cost $20 per attendee, though Lake County employees can attend for free. The session are suited for adults who work with adolescents in schools, medical facilities, social services and youth groups and other settings.
The sessions, which will be held sat the Lake County Health Department’s Waukegan location, 3010 Grand Ave., will also address substance use issues and identifying and assisting those going through a mental health crisis.
