Vernon Hills Police Pension Fund Board of Trustees met January 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Vernon Hills Police Pension Fund was held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Vernon Hills Village Hall located at 290 Evergreen Drive, Vernon Hills, Illinois pursuant to notice.

Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Trustee Sosnoski at 10:02 a.m.

Roll Call:

Present: Trustees Joseph Reyna, Mark Sosnoski, and Ed Kabot

Absent: Trustees Richard Black and Mark Peterson

Also Present: Nikki Larson and Mike Storto, Village of Vernon Hills; Erika Thomas, Ottosen Britz

Public Comment: There were no public comments.

A motion was made by Trustee Kabot and seconded by Trustee Reyna to appoint Trustee Sosnoski as President Pro Tem. Motion carried by roll call vote.

Ayes: Trustee Reyna, Sosnoski And Kabot

Nayes: None

Absent: Trustee Peterson, Trustee Black

Accept Resignation Of Trustee: A motion was made by Trustee Sosnoski and seconded by Trustee Kabot to accept a letter of resignation letter from Trustee Black; containing his resignation from the Board and his position as President. Motion carried by roll call yote.

Ayes: Trustee Reyna, Sosnoski and Kabot

Nayes: None

Absent: Trustee Peterson

Pursuant to this vote, Richard Black is no longer a Trustee of the Vernon Hills Police Pension Fund.

Approve Commencement Of A Special Election For Vacant Trustee Position: A motion was made by Trustee Sosnoski and seconded by Trustee Kabot to commence a special election for the vacant Trustee position. Motion carried by roll Call Vote.

Ayes: Trustee Reyna, Sosnoski and Kabot

Nayes: None

Absent: Trustee Peterson

Trustee Sosnoski stated that the special election will be run by Deputy Chief Zimmerman of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Election results will be presented at the next regularly scheduled meeting.

Closed Session, If Needed: There was no closed session needed at this time.

Trustee Sosnoski stated that Officer Black will be submitting a disability retirement pension application for the Board’s consideration. A motion was made by Trustee Sosnoski and seconded by Trustee Kabot to direct their attorney to commence the disability pension process upon receipt of such application.

Adjournment: A motion was made by Trustee Kabot and seconded by Trustee Reyna toadjourn the meeting at 10:06 a.m. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
