Analysis: Gurnee pays $2.59 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Gurnee Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 72.5 percent of the $2,192,599 the Gurnee Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.59 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Gurnee contributed $1,590,485 to the fund, which saw a $371,897 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $611,781, or 27.9 percent, in 2016.
