Report: Gavin spent $13,387 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Gavin School District 37 is up 26 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $10,627 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,387 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 922 to 851.

Gavin's spending in 2016-17 was 3 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
