Village of Wauconda Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals met April 4.

Call To Order:

Chairman Rob Fosness called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Village Staff & Village Consultants Present: Chris Miller, Director of Building, Planning & Zoning

Others Present: Nancy Burton, Trustee Linda Starkey, Glen Starkey, Kevin Posen, Ron Vaughan, Jr. and several residents.

Approval Of March 21, 2018 Minutes:

Chairman Fosness asked the Members if there were any questions or concerns with the March 21, 2018 minutes as drafted. A motion was made by Brad Mayer and seconded by Dave Jakubek to approve the minutes as written. There was no further discussion and Chairman Fosness called for a voice vote. All Members present voted Aye and there were no Nays.

Recommendation And Findings Of Fact Zoning Case #18-01 Wauconda Park District Phil’s Beach Zoning Conditional Use Permit for P.U.D. 600 N. Main Street:

Chairman Fosness announced to the audience that the purpose of the meeting is to review the Draft Recommendation and Findings of Fact for Zoning Case #18-01-Phil’s Beach. Chairman Fosness informed residents in the audience that the Public Hearing on the petition was held on March 21, 2018 when public comment was received and considered by the Plan Commission/ZBA in making their recommendation. He stated that the Plan Commission/ZBA has made their recommendation and the public hearing was closed. So any addition public comment at this time cannot be considered by the Plan Commission/ZBA to change the vote taken at the March 21, 2018 meeting. Chairman Fosness asked the Members if they have reviewed the Recommendation and Draft Findings of Fact and whether there were any comments or revisions needed. Discussion occurred whether one of the conditions required tree removal along the north property line. The Members agreed there was no such condition and that the written recommendation, conditions and findings of fact were acceptable. There being no further discussion Chairman Fosness asked for a motion. Member Wade Meyer made a motion to approve the Written Recommendation and Findings of Fact for Zoning Case 18-01. The motion was seconded by Ricardo Vega. Roll call was taken.

The motion passed 6 ayes to 0 nays.

Announcements: Director Miller announced there would be no meeting April 18, 2018. He indicated there are a couple of applications in process, but no formal submittals at this time.

Adjournment:

A motion to adjourn was made by Member Jakubek, and seconded by Member Graves. Chairman Fosness called for a voice vote, and all Members voted in favor, none were opposed. The meeting adjourned at 7:28 pm.
