The Village of Libertyville, in partnership with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), is working to develop an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Public Right-of-Way (PROW) Transition Plan. A PROW ADA Transition Plan outlines a strategy to identify and address accessibility barriers within a community’s public spaces like sidewalks, crosswalks, and curb cuts.

As part of this evaluation, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. and QualityCounts will be conducting field evaluations of Libertyville's pedestrian facilities in the public rights-of-way.

The village is also seeking public input on accessibility challenges. Residents are invited to participate in a survey to share their experiences encountering accessibility barriers in Libertyville and provide general feedback on the accessibility of village services and programs. An interactive map is available for residents to pinpoint locations where they have observed or experienced barriers to accessibility.

Additional opportunities for public feedback will be provided as the process continues.
