City of Highwood City Council met May 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

CALL TO ORDER

1. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Pecaro

Aldermen: Falberg, Fiore, Grice, Hospodarsky, Peterson, Slavin

Absent: None

Also Present: City Manager Coren, City Attorney Jablecki, Assistant to City Manager Martin, Administrative Assistant Litjens

2. Pledge of Allegiance

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Moved by Alderman Grice, seconded by Alderman Hospodarsky to approve the City Council May 1, 2018 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, the motion carried.

3.2. Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve the Committee of the Whole May 1, 2018 minutes as presented. All present voting aye, by voice vote, the motion carried.

4. Appointments (Mayor Pecaro) - None

5. Approval of Warrant List:

5.1. 05/15/2018 AP Warrant List - Moved by Alderman Fiore, seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the 05/15/2018 AP Warrant List as presented. On a roll call vote the motion was approved:

7. Mayor’s Report

7.1. Presentation by Chris Cizek - Eagle Scout Project Highwood Train Station. Mayor Pecaro introduced Chris Cizek, Eagle Scout candidate. Mr. Cizek detailed for the Council how he completed repairs to the clock tower at the City of Highwood downtown train station. He discussed repairing the motors and securing the clock hands. The Council expressed their appreciation and noted his contribution to the community.

12.1. 18-R-10 Moved by Alderman Falberg seconded by Aldermen Grice Approving an ARC Application for a Wall Sign with Lighting and Outdoor Seating Area for Chicago Mike's Ice Cream at the Historic Highwood Fire Station (428 Green Bay Road). All present voting aye, by voice vote, the motion carried.

12.2. 18-R-11 Moved by Alderman Hospodarsky seconded by Aldermen Fiore Approving an ARC Application for a Wall Sign With Lighting, Door Sign, and Outdoor Seating Area for Tala Coffee Roasters at the Historic Highwood Fire Station (428 Green Bay Road). All present voting aye, by voice vote, the motion carried.

12.3. 18-R-12 Moved by Alderman Fiore seconded by Aldermen Peterson Approving an ARC Application for a Channel Letter Wall Sign and Logo with Internal Lighting, and Slot Sign on Shared Monument at the Fort Sheridan Square Shopping Plaza (776 Sheridan Road). All present voting aye, by voice vote, the motion carried.

12.4. Consideration of an Ordinance Amending 5-1b-9: Sidewalk Maintenance Required In the Sidewalk Café Ordinance to Specify Construction, Fencing, Lighting, Landscaping and Furniture Requirements for Cafes. The Council agreed to reconsider this item on a future agenda pursuant to modifications discussed in the Committee of the Whole meeting.

12.5. Moved by Alderman Falberg seconded by Aldermen Grice Approving a Proposal for Audit Services – FYE 2018 with BKD; CPA’s and Advisors LTD. On a roll call vote the motion was approved:

15. Adjournment - Moved by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Fiore to adjourn the meeting. Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:45 P.M.
