Gurnee Police Department issued the following announcement on June 16.
Gurnee Police Officers responded to Six Flags Great America on June 15, 2018, for a report of a large group causing a disturbance, and a fight between two females. In park police officers responded immediately, taking the two female juveniles into custody.
The Investigation is ongoing, but thus far, has determined, this fight stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the two female juveniles.
During this response, several other juvenile age disturbances were reported. The Gurnee Police requested assistance from the Waukegan Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Video of the fight and other disturbances have been posted to social media.
No weapons were observed or recovered during this incident and nobody was transported to a hospital with injuries.
The Gurnee Police Department is actively investigating these incidents and will be reviewing these cases with the Lake County States Attorney for appropriate charges.
