Waukegan schedules special council meeting on federal immigration enforcement

Waukegan Mayor Sam Cunningham has called a special meeting of the Waukegan City Council to address recent federal immigration enforcement actions in the city. The decision to convene the meeting follows discussions with alderpersons and residents.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM. It will take place at Waukegan City Hall, located at 100 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.

For those unable to be present in person, the city will provide a live stream and a recording of the meeting on its YouTube channel at youtube.com/@WaukeganTV.
