Deerfield-Bannockburn FPD responds to 55 fires in 2017

Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District responded to 653 calls in 2017 - 7.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Deerfield-Bannockburn included 55 fires - 26 structure fires, 10 vehicle fires and 19 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $332,751 in fire loss - or about $6,050 per fire.

The department also received 597 false calls, including four malicious calls and 593 other false calls.

11 fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $12,240,562 in 2017.
