With less than a week left before voters go to the polls, Buffalo Grove state House candidate Daniel Didech received another $62,273 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Oct. 18 and Oct. 26, state filings show.
The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Daniel Didech Campaign Committee, the campaign committee that supports Didech’s race against Republican Karen Feldman in the 59th House District.
The district covers all or part of Waukegan, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Mettawa, Lincolnshire, Buffalo Grove, Northbrook and Wheeling.
Madigan’s contributions to Didech came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $443,053 to the candidate’s campaign this election cycle.
Madigan spent $6.5 million on 24 candidates between Oct 18 and Oct 30, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. He has spent $15.84 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates this election cycle, thus far.
