Office Manager/Assistant to the Village Administrator

The Village of Wadsworth seeks an Office Manager/Assistant to the Village Administrator who will provide assistance to the Village Administrator and serve as the Office Manager concerning the general day to day operation of the Village with respects to public service delivery and general government administration. The job incumbent will provide limited supervisory assistance over all other Village employees as well as contracted service providers while working very closely, and in tandem, with a full-time Village Administrator and part time Finance Clerk. The Office Manager/Assistant to the Village Administrator will report directly to the Village Administrator.

This is an hourly position and is IMRF eligible; the work week will consist of thirty (30) hours per week between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The hourly compensation rate for this position is between $18 and $26 depending on qualifications and experience. Holiday pay as well as paid vacation and sick days will be provided; though no insurance benefits of any kind will be offered.

Required Skills/Education/Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university with specialization in public administration or political science or business, supplemented by a graduate degree in public administration or business administration (preferred); or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Notary Public status is preferred. Candidate shall be highly proficient with the use of computers including Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks accounting software, along with customer service practices, general accounting practices, presentation skills, have mathematical and reading skills and be knowledgeable on general governmental operations. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of work experience with progressive responsibility. Experience working in government or non-profit sector is desirable. Candidate shall be proficient with the utilization of Lake County’s GIS mapping website.
