Report: Grass Lake spent $22,684 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Grass Lake School District 36 is up 33.7 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $16,964 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $22,684 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 171 to 191.

Grass Lake's spending in 2017-18 was 70.1 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
