Lawbooks

Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 recently issued the following announcement.

District 95, with the support of the elementary and middle school PTOs and the District 95 Educational Foundation, has created a new “celebration of writing and writers” to replace the Young Authors writing competition.

Gordon Korman will be the Author in Residence for Lake Zurich students in grades 3-8 from February 26 -28, 2018. He will visit each school for a presentation. District 95 students and their families are invited to attend a special presentation on the evening of February 26. Having him present to our student and parent community creates a wonderful opportunity for the District to celebrate writing and District 95’s student writers.

Pre-registration with tickets is encouraged through the link below. Ticketholders will be allowed into the Performing Arts Center first, beginning at 6:00 p.m. At 6:15 all seats will be available for non-ticketed individuals on a first-come, first-served basis.

Favorites include the New York Times bestselling Ungifted, Supergifted, Pop, and Schooled. Gordon is also the author of Masterminds and his newest book The Unteachables.

His presentation will cover research, brainstorming, developing characters, dialogue, rewriting and revision, and of course, humor.
