Illinois General Assembly: HB2296 actions on May 21

The following actions were taken on May 21 in the House on House bill HB2296 ("epa-lead-acid batteries"): "Passed Both Houses", "Third Reading - Passed" and "Added as Alternate Co-Sponsor Sen. Laura Fine".

The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. Ann M. Williams (D-11) on Feb. 8, "amends the Environmental Protection Act to prohibit lead-acid battery retailers from disposing of lead-acid batteries by delivery to a collection or recycling facility, unless that collection or recycling facility accepts lead-acid batteries," according to the General Assembly website.

The following senators co-sponsored the bill: Melinda Bush (D-31) and Laura Fine (D-9).

The following house representatives also co-sponsored the bill: Carol Ammons (D-103), Deb Conroy (D-46), Camille Y. Lilly (D-78) and Diane Pappas (D-45).
