City of Highland Park City Council met Aug. 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The City of Park City held its regular Council meeting on August 1 , 2019 at City Hall, 3355 Belvidere Road, Park City, Illinois. Mayor Steve Pannell called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited

ROLL CALL – City Clerk Dirzo

Present: Aldermen Telle, Dennis, Ortega, Bibian, Hart, Eaker

In Attendance: Mayor Steve Pannell, City Clerk Dirzo, City Attorney Peter Karlovics, Inspector Bernard Pondextor, City Engineer Ken Magnus

Absent: Chief of Police Holderbaum, Utilities

CONSENT AGENDA:

Motioned by Alderman Eaker and seconded by Alderman Hart to approve consideration of the Consent Agenda by Omnibus Vote, items A through B:

Ayes: 6 Aldermen: Telle, Dennis, Ortega, Bibian, Hart, Eaker

Nays: 0

Motion Passed

A. Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes – July 18th, 2019

B. Reading and Approval of Bills Payable – August 1st, 2019

It was motioned by Alderman Dennis and seconded by Alderman Telle to approve items A through B of the Consent Agenda

Ayes: 6 Aldermen: Telle, Dennis, Ortega, Bibian, Hart, Eaker

Nays: 0

Motion Passed

NEW BUSINESS:

A. Approval of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REGULATIONS CONTAINED WITHIN SECTION 5.32.080 OF THE PARK CITY MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED “LIMITATION OF LICENSES” TO CREATE ONE (1) NEW CLASS D LIQUOR LICENSE AND ISSUING THE NEWLY CREATED CLASS D LIQUOR LICENSE TO GINGERS PARK CITY, LLC. (Ordinance No. 2019-O-10)

It was motioned by Alderman Bibian and seconded by Alderman Eaker to approve Ordinance No. 2019-O-10.

Ayes: 6 Aldermen: Telle, Dennis, Ortega, Bibian, Hart, Eaker

Nays: 0

OLD BUSINESS:

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

A. WATER AND SEWER COMMITTEE - Chairman Dennis – Alderman Dennis requested the sum of $4,800 to be used towards the Lake Park Lift Station repair to include parts.

Mayor Pannell asked if council had any objections to use Mayor Emergency Spending. No objections from council

B. LICENSE AND FINANCE COMMITTEE – Chairman Bibian – No Comment

C. PARKS AND RECREATION – LIAISON – Alderwoman Ortega – Reminder that the Annual Back to School Supply Drive will take place on Saturday August 3rd, 2019. This event is open to Kindergarten to 2nd Grade students, Park City residency is required.

STAFF, OFFICERS, AND COUNCIL MEMBERS COMMENTS:

A. POLICE CHIEF – Walter Holderbaum – No Comment

B. CITY ENGINEER – Kenneth Magnus – Concrete on Lake Park and ramp on Old Skokie work is completed.

C. BUILDING DEPARTMENT & PUBLIC WORKS – Mayor Pannell – No Comment

D. CITY INSPECTOR – Bernard Pondexter – No comment

E. CITY ATTORNEY – Peter Karlovics – No Comment

F. ALDERMAN

DENNIS: Volunteer shirts for Change Park City volunteer group have come in.

G. CITY CLERK – NO COMMENT

H. CITY TREASURER – NO COMMENT.

MAYOR’S REPORTS AND APPOINTMENTS: All appointments are for 1 year unless stated otherwise.

Mayor Pannell suggested there be one more meeting held for the Block Party, this meeting will be held on Friday August 9th at at 6:30 PM at Limbrunner Park to finalize details of event.
