CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Mrs. Ross called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Upon the roll being called by Mr. Galfield, the following Board members answered present:

2. Employment (Regular)

Ekaterina Holland, Russian TBE aide: assignment for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year will be at Aptakisic Junior High School beginning March 9, 2020; $15.00 per hour.

3. Retirements

Jeff Livingston, special education program aide at Aptakisic Junior High School effective at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Lisa Raffel, special education guided classroom program aide at Pritchett School effective at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

4. Resignation

Kristin Sweeney, fifth grade classroom teacher at Meridian School effective at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

5. Leave of Absence

SEDOL MEETING UPDATE

Mr. Linn provided a recap of the March 4, 2020 SEDOL meeting. He shared some of the staffing struggles SEDOL is facing at this time.

IASB SPRING DINNER MEETING UPDATE

Mr. Graupe provided a recap of the spring dinner meeting held on March 11, 2020 at Round Lake CUSD 116. Guest speaker Dr. Bolton shared current research on the prevalence and impact of trauma on children and described how to create school communities that promote resilience in students and enhance their engagement and achievement in school.

COVID-19 PREVENTION AND E-LEARNING UPDATE

Dr. Wilcox, Dr. Hudson, and Mr. Hoover provided a recap of the measures the district has taken to keep students and staff healthy and discussed the plan that will allow learning to continue at home. The plan was signed off by the ROE. The first step is to check connectivity and access issues. D102 will then start using a three-phase process to introduce remote learning to support students, teachers, and families. Phase I begins March 31. A t that time, teachers will connect with families to build a familiar framework of learning using a series of grids with activities and structures. Phase II recreates a structure more similar to a school day with learning occurring in modules. Families can set a schedule that fits their family situation. Phase III will include live or synchronous learning using live conferencing tools for face to face learning and peer connectivity.

VENDOR PAYMENTS OVER 25K, FEBRUARY-MARCH 2020

The vendor list of expenditures over 25K from February-March 2020 was included as an informational item.

BUDGET CALENDAR

A draft of the 2020-2021 budget calendar was included as an informational item.

ANNUAL SAFETY MEETING UPDATE

Ms. Bachar and Ms. Slavin provided an update on the March 4, 2020 Annual Safety Meeting. Our Safety Team and members of the Buffalo Grove Police and Fire Departments were in attendance. The reunification process (Raptor) was discussed and testing will start when school is back in session.

OTHER ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

Mrs. Ross asked the Board for specifics on what should be published in the next D102ueday.

Mr. Libbey shared his disease prevention concerns and wants to continue to discuss ways to keep our schools safe in the future.
