The data shows that 10 men and three women were released in North Chicago zip code. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 43. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2015.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Ricky Knight. He was convicted of a sex crime in 1982, when he was 26 years old. He is now 64.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
