Analysis: Mundelein pays $2.65 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mundelein Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 72.6 percent of the $849,881 the Mundelein Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.65 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mundelein contributed $616,808 to the fund, which saw a $48,884 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $232,416, or 27.3 percent, in 2018. Another $657 came from other unspecified sources.
