Analysis: Lake Forest pays $5.51 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Lake Forest Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.5 percent of the $2,478,984 the Lake Forest Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.51 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Lake Forest contributed $2,094,125 to the fund, which saw a $214,126 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $379,500, or 15.3 percent, in 2018. Another $5,359 came from other unspecified sources.
