Analysis: Gurnee pays $1.40 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Gurnee Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 58.3 percent of the $3,667,555 the Gurnee Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $1.40 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Gurnee contributed $2,137,886 to the fund, which saw a $945,425 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,519,677, or 41.4 percent, in 2018. Another $9,992 came from other unspecified sources.
