Analysis: Vernon Hills pays $4.29 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Countryside FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.2 percent of the $1,738,013 the Countryside FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.29 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Vernon Hills contributed $1,428,750 to the fund, which saw a $232,805 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $332,942, or 19.2 percent, in 2018.
