ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 62: Yingling Encourages Residents to Take Advantage of Free Credit Reports

62

Illinois State House District 62 issued the following announcement on July 10

With the COVID-19 causing financial strain for many families, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is promoting new resources that help residents gain free access to their credit reports.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to negatively impact our economy and our residents, finding ways to ease the financial burden is essential,” Yingling said. “As we continue to fight this pandemic and restore our economy, I highly encourage residents to take advantage of this new opportunity to access their financial information and history in order to make well-informed financial decisions.”

In response to the negative economic impact that has been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Yingling is encouraging residents to take advantage of a free resource that enables residents to access a weekly credit report from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. These credit reports can affect mortgage rates, credit card approvals, apartment requests, and can help residents detect early signs of identity theft and other types of fraud. Everyone is eligible and the service will be available until April 2021. For more information, please visit www.AnnualCreditReport.com.

“With the pandemic worsening financial situations for many families, it is imperative that residents have as many resources as possible to stay afloat,” Yingling continued. “As we continue to create and find more ways to aid families during these tumultuous times, I recommend residents take advantage of the resources they have available to them.”
