Illinois State House District 61 issued the following announcement on July 30
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources just announced that starting Saturday, August 1st, the beach at Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays. This includes both the North and South Units, as well as North Point Beach.
The beach area of the park will remain open during the weekdays provided that public health measures and social distancing can be met. The rest of the park, such as the lodge and trails, will remain open every day of the week.
