Lake Villa Volunteer Fire Department responded to 264 calls in 2018 - 9.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Lake Villa included 47 fires - 13 structure fires, 10 vehicle fires and 24 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,083,550 in fire loss - or about $23,054 per fire.

The department also received 216 false calls, including 10 malicious calls and 206 other false calls.

The calls resulted in three civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, two fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Lake Villa Volunteer Fire Department had an annual budget of $8,304,774 in 2018.
