Countryside Fire Protection District responded to 850 calls in 2018 - 12.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Countryside included 107 fires - 77 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 22 other fires. The fire department also responded to five calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $825,050 in fire loss - or about $7,711 per fire.

The department also received 738 false calls, including one malicious call and 737 other false calls.

Two fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents and three were injured in non fire-related incidents.
