City of Highwood Board of Fire and Police Commission met Nov. 24

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

I. Meeting called to order at 4:15 pm (per Zoom)

II. Roll Call: Chairman Leon; Commissioner Barnwell; Commissioner Bernstein present

Also present: James Ferolo, Counsel to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, and Jaime Litjens (City of Highwood)

III. Motion by Barnwell, seconded by Bernstein to approve the minutes of the October 28, 2020 meeting

Motion carried unanimously

IV. Public Comments

None

V. Coren v. Pieri – Discussion of status of deliberations and other case related activity

Continued deliberations to take place in Executive Session

VI. Motion by Bernstein, seconded by Barnwell to recess into Executive Session pursuant to Section 2 (c) (4) of the Open Meetings Act to Deliberate Evidence Presented in the evidentiary hearing conducted in Coren v. Pieri and pursuant to Section 2 (c) (1) to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the City, and to adjourn the regular session.

Motion carried unanimously
