City of Park City Council Met Dec. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The City of Park City held its regular Council meeting at City Hall, 3355 Belvidere Road, Park City, Illinois. Mayor Steve Pannell called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

RECITED PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

CALL TO ORDER – Mayor Pannell

ROLL CALL – City Clerk Dirzo

Present: Aldermen Telle, Dennis, Ortega, Bibian, Hart

In Attendance: Mayor Steve Pannell, City Attorney Peter Karlovics, City Engineer Ken Magnus Absent: Alderman Eaker

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:

Frank Orsi: Mr. Orsi is looking to develop the property North of Washington St to use as a car sales facility. Currently, the location is not zoned for this use, would work towards obtaining conditional use for this purpose.

A. CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL TO AMEND I-ZONING TO ALLOW FOR SALE OF MOTOR VEHICLES AS A PERMITTED USE.

It was motioned by Alderman Dennis and seconded by Alderman Bibian to send to the Zoning Board of Appeals an application on the part of the city to amend the I-Zoning to allow for the sale of motor vehicles.

Ayes: 5 Aldermen: Telle, Dennis, Ortega, Bibian, Hart

Nays: 0

Motion Passed

Motioned by Alderman Dennis and seconded by Alderman Hart to Approve Consideration of the Consent Agenda by Omnibus Vote, items A through B:

A. Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes – November 19th, 2020 B. Reading and Approval of Bills Payable – December 3rd, 2020

It was motioned by Alderman Dennis and seconded by Alderman Telle to approve items A through B of the Consent Agenda.

NEW BUSINESS:

A. Discussion and Possible Approval to purchase a new locator for Public Works to be paid out of the Water & Sewer account

It was motioned by Alderman Bibian and seconded by Alderman Hart to APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A NEW LOCATOR FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,350 TO BE PAID OUT OF THE WATER & SEWER ACCOUNT. Ayes: 5 Aldermen: Telle, Dennis, Ortega, Bibian, Hart

OLD BUSINESS:

COMMITTEE REPORTS

A. WATER AND SEWER COMMITTEE – CHAIRMAN DENNIS

A. Working with Rosel on lift station concerns

B. LICENSE AND FINANCE COMMITTEE – CHAIRMAN BIBIAN

C. PARKS AND RECREATION – LIAISON – ALDERWOMAN ORTEGA A. Approval to use $1,000 in funds from the Parks & Recs account to go towards the Toy Drive for the residents of Park City.

NO APPROVAL NEEDED TO USE FUNDS.

B. Alderman Ortega would like to use the Teen Center and Public Works Building for the Kid’s Toy Drive event, along with assistance from the Police Department. Mayor Pannell will reach out to Sue Simpson for approval to use Teen Center. The Toy Drive will be from 12PM – 3PM.

STAFF, OFFICERS. AND COUNCIL MEMBERS COMMENTS:

A. POLICE CHIEF – Walter Holderbaum

i. Provided update on the roll out of Covid-19 vaccines, more information will be provided as it is made available to the Police Department.

B. ENGINEER – Kenneth Magnus

i. Working on a new grant application for the Old Skokie Rd project. Will continue to update Council as more information becomes available. Application to be finalized by end of the month.

C. BUILDING DEPARTMENT & PUBLIC WORKS – Mayor Pannell – NO REPORT D. CITY ATTORNEY – Peter Karlovics

E. ALDERMEN

i. TELLE: CONCERNS WITH CONTINOUS GARBAGE ISSUE FROM COLONIAL PARK APARTMENTS.

F. CITY CLERK – NO REPORT

G. CITY TREASURER – ABSENT

MAYOR’S REPORTS AND APPOINTMENTS: All appointments are for 1 year unless stated otherwise.

A. CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL TO AMEND I-ZONING TO ALLOW FOR SALE OF MOTOR VEHICLES AS A PERMITTED USE. Item was moved up in the meeting and approved as amended.
