Branch Court Study.

Donna Maki, Project Research Coordinator, gave a presentation on the Branch Court Study. The project was worked on with the Lake County justice partners. There are three branch courts: Mundelein, Park City and Round Lake Beach. Ms. Maki gave an overview of each of the branches' budgets. Since 2005 branch court cases declined 57 percent. A lengthy discussion ensued.

Joint resolution authorizing the emergency appropriation of a grant in the amount of $20,000 from the D.A.S. Charitable Fund for the Preservation of Feline Animal Life for use by the Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit.

Jim Chamernik, Business Manager, Sheriff's Office, gave an overview of the grant for the Preservation of Feline Animal Life. This is the fifth year the Sheriff's Office has received this grant. The funds will be used to offset some of the canine expenses such as food, veterinary care and training.

A motion was made by Member Hewitt, seconded by Member Vealitzek, that this resolution be approved and referred on to the Financial and Administrative Committee. Motion carried by the following roll call vote:
