Deerfield School District 109 recently issued the following announcement.
This week, DPS 109 athletes took to the field in competition for the first time since the pandemic began.
On Tuesday, the Shepard track teams traveled to Attea Middle School and ran had against the Flyers. A special congratulations to Molly, who won the 800 meters for 7th grade girls and Jamie, who won the 800 meters for 7th grade boys.
On Wednesday, the Caruso Blue Jays visited Springman Middle School, and the 6th & 7th boys team came away victorious over the Wildcats. 7th grader Trey won 4 events, including long jump, hurdles, the 400, and the 800.
