Recently issued the following announcement.

United Way of Lake County is proud of the community support that the 2-1-1 program is offering members of the community, and will celebrate and raise further awareness with a webinar scheduled for Sept. 23,2021, between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Community members are invited to join in the Zoom-based webinar, which will include both community leaders and stakeholders who will share the impact of the 2-1-1 service in Lake County .

You’ll hear about 211’s measurable impact, data on community-specific needs, and the results we have seen in year two during this critical time of the pandemic. You’ll also hear stories of how 211 has made a real difference for community members, employers, agencies and local government.

Marc Jones, Waukegan Township Supervisor, will moderate a panel of local leaders discussing how 211 as a one-stop shop more efficiently guides people to resources to help improve lives, including a more in-depth discussion on the top needs and solutions to address them.

The event will feature panelists from multiple service providers and leaders in Lake County, including Kelly Brown, Community Information Officer for Interface Children & Family Services; Tim Sashko, President of Lake County Board of Health; Billy McKinney, Zion City Mayor; Mary Lockhart White, Executive Director of Community Action Partnership of Lake County, and Brenda O’Connell, Community Development Administrator for Lake County Government.

In addition, the Lake County Board proclaimed Feb. 11 to be “2-1-1 Day” in Lake County.

Help United Way to recognize the incredible support and collaboration of so many individuals, employers, community leaders and partners who have joined with us to bring this vital service to Lake County, and celebrate the results they’ve achieved for the community.

To register, visit the webinar registration page or contact Cynthia Zimmerman at the United Way of Lake County via email at Cynthia.Zimmerman@uwlakeco.org.
