City of Highland Park Housing Commission met Oct. 27.

CALL TO ORDER

At 5:31 p.m., Chairman Berkun called the meeting to order and asked Staff to call the roll.

ROLL CALL

Commissioners Present: Chairman Berkun, Commissioners Abreu, Bernstein, Dennison, Fernandez Sykes, Paushter & Valbrun

Commissioners Absent: None

Councilperson Absent: Blumberg

Student Council Absent: Fishman, Keysers

Staff declared that a quorum was present.

Staff Present: Coleman, Later

BUSINESS FROM THE PUBLIC

There was no Business from the Public.

SCHEDULED BUSINESS

A Resolution Approving Contracts for Financial Advisory Services between EREG Housing Preservation LLC and the Peers, Ravinia, and Sunset Woods Housing Associations

Deputy Director Later informed the Commission that the City Council voted to approve the contracts for EREG to perform financial advisory services for the three housing associations. Deputy Director Later also informed the Commission that there would need to be three motions (one for each housing association) to approve the contracts.

Commissioner Bernstein moved to approve the drafted resolution approving the contract with Evergreen Real Estate Group to provide financial advisory services to the Peers Housing Association and granting authority to the Housing Commission Chair to execute the contract on the commission’s behalf. Commissioner Dennison seconded the motion.

On a roll call vote

Voting Yea: Chairman Berkun, Commissioners Abreu, Bernstein, Dennison, Fernandez Sykes, Paushter, & Valbrun

Voting Nay: None

Chairman Berkun declared the motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner Valbrun moved to approve the drafted resolution approving the contract with Evergreen Real Estate Group to provide financial advisory services to the Ravinia Housing Association and granting authority to the Housing Commission Chair to execute the contract on the commission’s behalf. Commissioner Bernstein seconded the motion.

Voting Nay: None

Chairman Berkun declared the motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner Abreu seconded the motion.

Voting Nay: None

Chairman Berkun declared the motion passed unanimously.

STAFF REPORT

Deputy Director Later provided an update on 2753 St. John’s Avenue. The Building Division has given final approval on the permits for the construction to fix the damage to the townhome. Harold Eich of ERES will be in contact with the resident to coordinate them moving back into their townhome.

Deputy Director Later also informed the Commission that the townhomes on St. John’s and in Ravinia have had the new security cameras installed.

ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Abreu moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:48 p.m. Commissioner Fernandez Sykes seconded 38 the motion.

Voting Nay: None
