Adam Shores for State Representative has issued the following press release:
GRAYSLAKE, IL – Today, Republican Adam Shores launched his campaign for state representative in the 62nd District, encompassing portions of Avon, Freemont, Grant, Lake Villa, Libertyville, and Warren townships in Lake County.
“As a Grayslake Village Trustee, I’ve seen firsthand how an effective government can operate efficiently,” said Shores. “The misguided policies coming out of Springfield do not represent our state's values. I am running for state representative to put families first, grow our economy, and strengthen our communities. I have a vision for what Illinois can be, and I’m ready to help our state reach its greatest potential.”
Shores has always had a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. He has built a career of more than 20 years in public affairs, advocacy, and communication. In his career, he has fought for stronger teen driving laws across the country, programs to help small businesses grow, and quality education for K-12 students.
In 2016, he joined the Grayslake Village Board, where he built a record of accomplishment by keeping the village's share of property taxes low, enhancing property values, and adding to the quality of life for residents. Through his work on the Economic Development Commission, he helped attract new businesses to the area, and his authorship of the Community Involvement Grant Program aided local non-profits for the betterment of the community.
Shores is an active community member involved in the Grayslake Historical Society, Grayslake Heritage Center Foundation, and the Exchange Club of Grayslake, a service organization working together to better the community. He previously held leadership positions in his church and other organizations.
Shores received his undergraduate degree in Journalism and Political Science from Troy University and his graduate degree in Political Management from George Washington University. He is a long-time Lake County resident and is the father of two sons in our public schools.
