Mundelein 89th-highest taxed Illinois municipality in 2020

Mundelein taxpayers paid the 89th highest amount in sales taxes in 2020, according to Illinois tax records.

Taxpayers in Mundelein paid $8.2 million in 2020.

Mundelein was ranked 91st the year before.

Of all the taxes Mundelein residents paid for, Municipal Sales Tax was the most contributed to tax.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
