Republican Candidate for State Senate IL-31 Adam Solano has been in financial services since 1993. On Sept. 6, he announced that he has been “working closely with Avon Township to make an innovative public-private partnership a reality,” and, effective immediately, “Avon will now offer a free life insurance policy as part of their Essential Services Program.”
"I am not waiting to be elected to take the next step in my long-standing commitment to bring new opportunities to families in our community. One of the key pillars in my “Plan for Lake County” is Inclusive Opportunities for everyone," Solano said in a statement on his website.
According to Oregon Business, those eligible for Avon Township’s free life insurance policy are parents and legal guardians ages 19-42. They must have one or more dependent children under the age of 18, be working full or part-time with a total family income between $10,000-$40,000, and be a permanent, legal resident of the United States. They also must be in good health.
If an insured parent or guardian dies during the 10-year policy term, $50,000 will be deposited into a trust to finance the dependent's educational expenses, such as books, tuition, fees and campus room and board. The types of schools covered include pre-school, private school, trade school, colleges, universities, art, music and graduate schools.
"Just because your financial circumstances are difficult doesn’t mean you have to die without life insurance. In fact, it is really love insurance," Solano said. “It is well past time we move past broken politics and begin to put people first again.”
Avon Township is located in Lake County and is home to the Villages of Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Park, Round Lake Heights, Grayslake, Hainesville and Third Lake. There are 64,000 residents in Avon Township.
