My opponent, Mary Edly-Allen, does not vote or act in the best interests of our district and was voted out of office two years ago because of it. She supports and votes for things we don’t need, didn’t ask for and it has made all our lives worse. Our district and our state cannot afford more of the same from out of touch and extreme politicians like Mary Edly-Allen

Here are five examples:

  1. SAFE T Act – She had an unexcused absence from her own democrat party – which is extremely rare – because she simply failed to show up for work after she lost her election. She failed to meet the basic duties of an elected official and her oath of office. Despite abandoning her elected position and missing the debate and the vote for the SAFE T Act, she is now a strong supporter of it.  It needs to be repealed.
  2. 2019 Firearms Restraining Order Act which Mary Edly-Allen voted for seems like a common sense gun law, but she failed to provide any funding for the rollout and training for law enforcement and States Attorney’s. That’s equivalent to opening a 401k plan for retirement but not putting any money into it. Other states have enacted similar laws and regularly use it to protect the public, but my opponent and her democrat party call themselves advocates for common sense gun laws while they leave out the most important part – money
  3. My opponent is hyper partisan, extreme and supports things like the graphic sex education curriculum pushed this past year by “woke” politics. She advocates it for her own school district, despite it being rejected by the majority of other Illinois schools.
  4. Good government is more than a single issue. Good leadership brings people together not apart.  A woman’s right to choose is the law in Illinois and it’s a settled issue. That’s how it works in a democracy. Most voters - pro-choice and prolife - want a balanced government that is representative. They want a government that works and a state that is friendly to their family, their business and their pocketbook. They also want a government that prioritizes Public Safety and supports our law enforcement. Sadly, Illinois is one of the heaviest taxed and most expensive places to live, and we recently lost a Congressional seat because of the declining population.  This must change, quickly.
  5.  I’m not waiting to be elected to help working families in our district. Mary Edly-Allen uses "working families" as a talking point. This past year I helped Avon Township implement a free life insurance program from a well know insurance carrier to insure hard working parents and families with incomes less than $40,000 bridge the gap between financial realities and their desire for a better life through the financial protection of their children's education.
The best run states are run by a balance of level headed democrats and republicans.  It would be an honor and a privilege to serve you as our next State Senator.
