Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has received financial support from 12 Lake Forest residents, according to an analysis of Illinois State Board of Elections campaign finance data by the Lake County Gazette.
They include Mayer Brown law partner Paul Crimmins ($3,500), KemperSports CEO Steven Skinner ($5,000) and philanthropist Prudence R. Beidler ($2,000).
First elected in 2019, Lightfoot has referred to herself as the "Triple Threat," the first female, black and lesbian mayor of Chicago. She is currently running for re-election.
Beidler, 79, is herself "possibly" making a bid for Lake Forest Mayor, according to a Nov. 15 Chicago Tribune report. She participated in the Lake Forest Caucus but opposed its choice of a male candidate, orthopedic surgeon Randy Tack, arguing she should get the nod, becoming the first female mayor of the city.
Beidler is Lake Forest's only donor to Kim Foxx, Cook County's first female state's attorney.
ISBE records show she and her husband, Frank, have made 14 donations to Foxx totaling $18,000.
