Former 3rd Ward Alderman Stanford "Randy" Tack is claiming victory in his run for mayor of Lake Forest after netting more than 58% of the vote in the April 4 election.

"I'm ready to get to work," Tack said. "There are a lot of things that need our attention in order to keep things moving."

With all 17 precincts reporting, Tack's closest challenger was former 1st Ward Alderman Prue Beidler, who earned 39% of the vote. Candidate Paul Hamann received 2% of the vote.

The Lake County Clerk's Office said provisional ballots and late-arriving mail ballots are still to be counted, Patch reported.

Tack, who is an orthopedic surgeon, was elected as 3rd Ward alderman in 2011, serving multiple terms from 2012-2018, according to his website. He was endorsed by the Lake Forest Caucus following a controversial annual meeting last year. Beidler, a former teacher, served on the City Council from 2014 to 2020,

In March, Beidler's campaign treasurer, Dianne Casuto, filed a complaint with the Illinois State Board of Elections accusing the caucus of breaking contribution limits to the Tack campaign.
