Antioch Police and Fire Commission
I. Call to order
A meeting of the Police and Fire Commission was called to order at State Bank of The Lakes, 440 Lake St. Antioch, IL 60002 at 1:02 PM on Tuesday March 7, 2023
II. Roll Call
Antioch Police Commission conducted a roll call. The following persons were present: Jim Kinney (telephonically), Michael Volling, Julie Nellessen (telephonically) and Jenny Olsen. Also in attendance was Antioch Police Commander Nick Garcia.
III. Public Comment: There were no public comments
IV. Existing Business
a. Sergeant’s Promotion Exam
1.Review of any military point additions to the preliminary Sergeant’s Promotion List:
Commander Garcia presented submissions for military points by officers on the Sergeant’s Promotion List. Officer Oliver submitted a written request and all required documentation and the military appoints were applied per Antioch Police Commission Rules and Regulations.
2.Approval of final Sergeant’s Promotion List: A motion was made by Commissioner Volling and seconded by Commissioner Nellessen to approve the final Sergeant’s Promotion List with an effective date of 3/7/23. The motion passed unanimously. The list is valid for 3 years or when the current list is exhausted, whichever comes first. Commissioner Kinney authorized Jenny Olsen to sign letters on his behalf to the officers on the final Sergeant’s Promotion List.
V. Adjournment
A motion was made by Commissioner Nellessen and seconded by Commissioner Volling to adjourn the meeting of the Antioch Police Commission at 1:08 PM.
