The GLMV Chamber of Commerce Network and Village of Vernon Hills have partnered with local businesses and veteran service organizations to collect coats for the Midwest Veterans Closet. The Midwest Veterans Closet serves veterans and their families by providing essential items including food and clothing to those in need, according to a Village Facebook post. The coat drive allows several organizations to join together to collect new and gently used coats and seasonal outerwear for distribution prior to winter. Donations are being accepted at participating businesses, the Village Hall, the Vernon Hills Police Department, and the Vernon Hills Golf Course. Donations can be dropped off at any of these locations through Nov. 15, according to the post. A complete list of collection locations can be found online on the GLMW (Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein and Vernon Hills) Chamber of Commerce website. Dates and times may vary, so residents are asked to contact each location for specific information.
