Highland Park is planning to purchase new chairs and tables for City Council chambers and the pre-session conference room at City Hall. The city is expected to spend $58,881 on the office furniture during its meeting tonight, according to the ordinance attached to the City Council agenda for its Oct. 23 meeting.
The City Manager's Office is asking Highland Park City Council to approve the purchase from Forward Space LLC of Chicago. The amended Highland Park Code of 1968 allows the city to waive competitive bidding in this case.
The majority of the purchase, totaling $35,138, will be allocated for 115 office chairs. Additionally, the order includes 20 training tables with power. The quote from Forward Space, attached to the City Council agenda for its Oct. 23 meeting, also includes labor costs of $3,160 to deliver, install, and assemble the furniture, as well as remove trash from the site.
The decision to invest in new chairs and tables for City Council chambers and the pre-session conference room at City Hall highlights Highland Park's commitment to creating a comfortable and functional environment for city officials and staff.
