Pre-constructed modules used to build the Mundelein Senior Apartments began to be put in place on-site after being staged around Village Hall.

"The units were delivered with carpeting, cabinets, plumbing fixtures and more features already installed", according to a Facebook post by the Village of Mundelein. When the units are in place, the building structure will be mostly complete. Some portions of the building will still require on-site work, including all plumbing, brickwork, siding and electrical work.

The 36 units in this staging phase will take six days to set if weather permits. More modules will be delivered until the end of Dec., as stated by another Facebook post by the Village of Mundelein. The same source expects to welcome new senior residents in the summer and fall of 2024.

According to a press release by the Village of Mundelein, Mundelein Senior Apartments was proposed as new construction providing 46 units of affordable housing for low-income seniors. The development is set to feature amenities for residents including a recreation room, art/activity room, library and a business center.

The Village Board of Trustees approved a resolution that authorized the execution of the first amendment to the development agreement between the Village, the Debruler Co., and Mundelein Seniors Apartments LLC as per another press release from them. It was mentioned that Mundelein Senior Apartments is the first project being constructed at the southwest corner of Hawley Street and Prospect Avenue.
