Mayor Tom Hood appointed a Veterans Blue Ribbon Commission to lead the Village to establish a more connected community to assist local veterans.
Hood appointed Jim Huisel of the Gurnee American Legion as chair of the commission, said the Village of Gurnee in a news release.
The Village Board of Trustees recognized veterans for their service with a proclamation and recognition ceremony during its meeting on Nov. 6, according to another news release by the Village of Gurnee.
The Veterans Blue Ribbon Commission will conduct a study of the community and follow up with recommendations to the Village Board on how it can assist veterans and their families, stated yet another news release by the Village of Gurnee.
