Lake Forest podcast hosts: ‘Communities were bipartisan’ before the Democrat party took over

Podcast host Joe Weiss said “there was a time when those communities were bipartisan,” referring to the Lake Forest area.

“Gradually over time, one party took over,” Weiss said to co-host Pete Jansons on the Lake Forest podcast. “It got to where if you didn't pledge your soul to the local Democratic party, you didn't come to their annual dinners, you didn't buy tickets, you didn't sign their petitions, you didn't put up their yard signs, and even worse if you stayed involved in the local Republican organization, you had zero chance of being slated for anything or appointed to anything.”

“That's how it's become in some of those towns.” Weiss said. “I use Northbrook as another recent example of this.”
